Heathcoat Fabrics to unveil next-generation protective textiles at Techtextil 2026
Heathcoat Fabrics will present a new generation of high-performance textiles for extreme environments at Techtextil 2026 in Frankfurt, as demand accelerates across defence, aerospace, emergency services and industrial protection.
Heathcoat Fabrics is advancing a portfolio of engineered materials designed to meet increasingly complex operational requirements, combining textile innovation with fully integrated, in-house production.
Among the latest developments are PFAS-free materials for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) protection, Ember-X technology for wildfire environments, and EVO-FR flame-retardant spacer textiles for transport and aircraft interiors.
“Customers working in high-risk environments need complete confidence in performance and traceability,” says Gemma Groves, Knitting Division Sales Manager. “Our ability to control every stage of production – from yarn preparation through to finished textiles – allows us to deliver consistent quality while adapting quickly to new challenges.”
We continue to invest in our manufacturing capabilities, including advanced sizing equipment to enhance yarn preparation and improve efficiency across weaving operations. The introduction of extra-wide looms also enables the production of wider-width fabrics for specialist applications.
We have developed Ember-X to withstand intense heat and flame exposure, supporting protection for personnel operating in extreme wildfire conditions. EVO-FR, produced using polyetherimide (PEI) yarn, offers a high-performance alternative to conventional foams, degrading and carbonising under heat to reduce smoke and eliminate molten drip. The material is being developed to meet stringent flammability standards, including FAR/CS 25.853 for aircraft interiors.
At Techtextil 2026, we will showcase these innovations as part of our latest portfolio, highlighting the growing role of advanced textile engineering in protecting people and assets in the world’s most demanding environments.
