Testimonials

The Heathcoat Fabric Graduate Programme has allowed me to gain knowledge and experience in production processes and improvements across the diverse site. The flexible approach to the programme has meant I am able to work on multiple projects across the business from production to technical to understand where I am best suited and interested to work in. This has meant I have found enjoyment and interest in areas and roles of work previously unconsidered and that without the Programme I would never have been able to experience. The ability to work with a range of people from operators to directors across divisions means that I am participating in making real improvements and change.

I joined Heathcoat Fabrics straight from Manchester University four years ago, and had a real adventure getting used to the somewhat quieter Devon life and the vast and busy Heathcoat site! The graduate scheme helped me to develop my textiles knowledge, build my confidence and gave me a good grounding to the company and an extensive range of processes. The scheme has a real personal touch with training onsite and offsite offered to help support your development. On the graduate scheme, I was involved in a varied range of projects such as organising and running a Heathcoat exhibition stand from scratch, continuous improvement work, and new fabric design.

Louisa

I like the Heathcoat Fabrics Graduate Programme as it allows me to work in all areas of the company and interact with a wide range of people from operators to directors. I feel that the graduate programme provides me with the flexibility to work in a way that suits me best. On the programme, I am able to make a real difference in the company with the projects I am given.

Rachel

The best thing about my time on the Graduate Scheme was the opportunity I had to learn in-depth about the diverse range of processes we have here at HFL. I loved learning about the unique and innovative products we make and found that having the chance to follow the process route, from raw material to finished product, enabled me to broaden my textile knowledge in exactly the way I had envisaged. Other positives have been the skills and confidence I have developed in project management, which have been invaluable for my role in the company.

The nature of the Graduate Programme at Heathcoat’s is such that the work you will be doing is incredibly diverse. You can find yourself working on projects relating to optimising productivity and machine performance to working on problem-solving events targeting product quality. The skills I have gained have been incredibly valuable to me in my personal development. The best part is you are given complete ownership and control of projects which means you can see the value you are adding to the business. We have a lovely site in the middle of Devon. The main principle which underpins our work is ‘continuous improvement’. We are constantly challenging ourselves to do better, to increase productivity, reduce waste, and deliver great products to our customers.
