We have an exciting opportunity for an Operative to join our Section Warping department.


About the departments and responsibilities

The role involves the operation of various machinery and equipment.  Key responsibilities of a Warping Operative include loading and unloading creels for warping machines; loading packages onto creels; producing bobbins for the weaving department; operating warping machines; continuous observation to ensure the highest quality standard is met; and maintaining good housekeeping within the department.

You must have a responsible attitude, a logical approach, be able to achieve the grade standard within a given training period and work as part of a team.  You need to follow health & safety regulations carefully and pay attention to detail.  You will be required to demonstrate good hand/eye dexterity, numeracy and literacy skills.  A consistent eye for attention to detail is critical.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and information
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Experience in using electronic machinery
  • Effective communication skills
  • Good dexterity
  • Good numerical skills
  • A logical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work well in a team and on your own
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

 

 

  3-shift working pattern

£10.55 per hour, incl shift premium
