We have an exciting opportunity for an Operative to join our Knitting Warping department.


About the department and responsibilities

The role involves the operation of various machinery and equipment within the Knitting production department to supply finished warp beams to the Knitting department. Key responsibilities of the role include transportation of raw materials and finished stock, loading and unloading creels and operation of various warping machines. Attention to detail and continuous observation is critical to ensuring that a high-quality standard is attained in the department.

You must have a responsible and proactive attitude, a logical approach and be able to become a competent operator within a given training period whilst working as part of a team. You will be required to demonstrate good hand/eye dexterity when working with yarn alongside good numeracy and literacy skills. A consistent eye for attention to detail is critical.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and information
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment
  • Attention to detail and safety conscious mindset
  • Familiar with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong numerical skills
  • A logical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good dexterity
