We have a number of exciting training opportunities coming up within our Woven Fabrics production area and are currently looking for enthusiastic and practical trainees that are looking to develop themselves further within the department, initially as a Gaiter.

About the department and the role

As a Gaiter, you are responsible for ensuring our looms are fully prepared and ready to be used.

Duties include preparing looms for a tie warp, fitting tie warps into the loom, stripping looms out ready for the Gait, fitting Gaits into the loom, cutting warps out when they are no longer required, removing warp waste, weighing and recording information and cleaning looms when required.

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

• Good dexterity skills
• A methodical approach
• Good planning and organising skills
• Basic level of mechanical knowledge
• Able to work on own initiative
• Knowledge of Health and Safety in a textile manufacturing environment

Desirable

• Experience of working in a similar environment
