Heathcoat Fabrics is a global leader in advanced textile manufacturing, supplying high-performance fabrics to customers around the world. We are now looking to recruit a Chemical Inventory Senior Stores Person to join our Finishing Division, supporting our Dyehouse operations.
About the Role
This is a key role within our Dyehouse team, responsible for the safe, efficient and accurate management of the chemical store. You will play an important part in ensuring production runs smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and stock control.
You’ll receive full training and ongoing support from an experienced team, helping you develop your knowledge of chemicals, dyes and manufacturing processes within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all aspects of the chemical store, including receiving, issuing and controlling stock
- Booking goods in and issuing stock using Epicor ERP system, maintaining accurate inventory records
- Ensuring chemicals and dyes are stored, handled and transported safely and in line with legal, regulatory and environmental requirements
- Managing chemical returns, quarantined materials and redundant dyes
- Unloading deliveries and moving stock using a forklift truck
- Working to Standard Operating Procedures and maintaining high Health & Safety standards at all times
Essential Skills and Experience
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning abilities
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with previous stores-based experience
- Desirable Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of Health and Safety processes and chemical handling, including COSHH
- Experience working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Strong organisation, planning and communication skills
- Ability to operate a forklift truck
