We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Technical Weaving team at Heathcoat Fabrics as a Gaiter.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and would like to develop their skills within a specialist textile manufacturing environment.
Gaiters play an important role in supporting our weaving operations by ensuring looms are correctly prepared and ready for production. Working as part of a skilled and supportive team, you will prepare, maintain and organise loom set-ups so production runs efficiently and safely.
Typical duties include:
Preparing looms ready for tie-in operations
Fitting tie warps into the loom
Stripping looms in preparation for gaiting
Fitting gaits into looms
Cutting out warps when they are no longer required
Removing warp waste from machines
Weighing and recording production information
Cleaning and maintaining looms when required
This role requires careful attention to detail and the ability to work methodically to ensure looms are ready for production.
Good manual dexterity

Good planning and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Awareness of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a textile or manufacturing environment
Mechanical aptitude or experience setting up machinery
Previous experience using manual handling equipment
