A rare opportunity has arisen for a permanent Payroll Assistant to join our established payroll team. This is an excellent role for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working with numbers, systems and people in a time-sensitive environment.

About the role

In this busy and varied role, you will support the delivery of a high-quality, accurate payroll service for all current and new employees. You will work closely with the wider team, ensuring Company processes and procedures are followed throughout the entire payroll cycle.

Key responsibilities will include maintaining the Company Time and Attendance (T&A) system, processing starters and leavers, managing a range of pay changes, and responding to payroll-related queries from managers and employees. Accuracy, confidentiality and the ability to meet monthly payroll deadlines are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the end-to-end monthly payroll process
  • Maintaining accurate records within the Time and Attendance (T&A) system
  • Processing starters, leavers and contractual or pay changes
  • Responding to payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensuring data is accurate, compliant and submitted to deadlines
  • Working collaboratively with the payroll team and wider business

Requirements of the role

  • High level of attention to detail with strong analytical skills
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible approach with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines

Desirable

  • Previous payroll experience would be advantageous, but is not essential
