The Role

We are seeking a skilled, detail-focused Smash Weaver to join our Woven Fabrics division and support the efficient operation of our weaving operations.

In this role, you will work closely with Weavers and Overlookers, helping to maintain loom performance, minimise downtime, and ensure fabric quality standards are consistently met. You will play a hands-on role on the shop floor – monitoring looms, identifying faults, and taking prompt action to keep production running smoothly.

This is a key support role within the weaving team, requiring strong attention to detail, practical skill, and a proactive approach.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Patrolling looms to monitor performance and fabric quality
  • Identifying faults and restarting stopped looms efficiently
  • Accurately completing on-loom inspection sheets
  • Supporting Weavers and Overlookers in day-to-day operations
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and problem-solving training activities

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience or training as a Weaver
  • Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality awareness
  • Good manual dexterity and practical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Effective communication skills

Training and Development

We will support you in developing your skills further within our weaving operations, with opportunities to build on your experience and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.
