An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Finishing Department as a Chemical Store Person. This position offers full training and the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the efficient and safe management of dyes and chemicals essential to our production processes.

About the Role

As a Chemical Store Person, you will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issue and control of chemicals and dyes used within the department. You will use Epicor, our ERP software, to book goods in, issue stock into work and maintain accurate stock levels. The role also involves checking stock for expiration, rotating supplies in line with company policy, and ensuring that empty containers are cleaned and returned appropriately.

You will be responsible for placing orders with suppliers and managing returned, quarantined and redundant materials. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential to read, understand and comply with all relevant risk assessments and COSHH requirements. A Forklift Truck will be used for moving and transferring stock.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with previous stores-based experience
  • Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety processes and chemical handling, including COSHH
  • Experience working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
