An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technician to join our Coloration and Finishing Laboratory. The position offers comprehensive training and the chance to contribute to the development and quality assurance of our advanced technical fabrics.

 

The Department and the Role

The Colouration and Finishing Laboratory is responsible for producing scale samples for customer approval, ensuring that each sample meets the required performance, aesthetic and production standards.

As a Technician, you will conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis of fabrics, chemicals, dyestuffs and process water used in production. Your work will play a key role in supporting product consistency and quality excellence across our operations.

Our Technicians test extracts of our technical fabrics to ensure they can be released for processing. They also carry out laboratory reprocessing treatments to correct unsatisfactory shades or remove stains. The ideal candidate will test dyestuff, chemical and fabric changes, with the ability to present their findings in a format suitable for use by Production. Technicians are also responsible for designing dye recipes that meet customer requirements and for carrying out analysis work on process water to monitor trends.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Mathematics
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound numeracy and analytical ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

 Desirable Skills and Experience 

  • Previous experience working in a laboratory environment
