PBI by Heathcoat

Discover our full range of internationally acclaimed PBI firefighter outershell solutions

Heathcoat’s range of PBI fabrics offers lightweight, breathable protection against heat, flash fire and arc flash and will not ignite. They also offer excellent chemical splash resistance, perspiration and wicking properties. They do not become brittle, shrink, or break open when exposed to flame or high temperatures, ensuring high levels of protection for firefighters in all operational conditions.

The Heathcoat PBI range is headed by PRO, our strongest yet lightest weight product, with enhanced flame protection and market-leading UV resistant durability.
PBI Pro features high strength without compromising PBI thermal performance, engineered with the dual strength of filament para-aramid within a PBI protection barrier. The result is an uncompromised outer shell fabric optimised for user comfort with the reassurance of superior strength and protection, flashover tested without break open. High mechanical strength, light weight and enhanced fire-resistance meet the very toughest frontline demands.

Core is made with an engineered fibre blend to protect the para-aramid structural element, increasing the retained strength of the fabric after exposure to UV all wrapped up in an appealing matrix-style design.

The attractive birds-eye twill pattern compliments Shield’s advanced engineered fabric properties, offering an increased level of comfort and durability. The woven design allows greater air porosity to enhance and improve comfort and breathability.

A revolutionary concept, Dynamo incorporates a heat-activated yarn on the reverse of the fabric, which reshapes when exposed to flame to create small air pockets. The effect provides an additional layer of air insulation, proven to give higher protection against heat.

Lightweight PBI TGP is specially designed for technical rescue – The Heathcoat designed dyeable lightweight protective fabric is also widely used for wildland firefighting and protection of workers in the petrochemical, gas and electrical industries.
