Heathcoat Fabric Retail shop is based on the edge of Tiverton town centre and has four rooms dedicated to soft furnishing fabrics, dressmaking, craft and haberdashery. For the sewing enthusiast, it is an Aladdin’s cave of traditional and modern styles and is housed in a building which forms an important part of Heathcoat’s proud history. Our retail shop employees pride themselves on their friendly and knowledgeable advice and are always on hand to offer assistance.

We have exciting part-time opportunities for a Shop Assistant to join our wonderful retail team.

We are looking for employees who will take pride in what they do, and use their own initiative, in a fast-paced and engaging team environment. The team work hard to support each other to deliver to the best of their ability and require a like-minded person who is customer-focused and is keen to learn new skills along the way.

Skills, knowledge and experience

Essential

• Ability to calculate measurements accurately using a calculator
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Excellent customer focus
• Good attention to detail
• Able to use scissors and measures

Desirable

• Previous retail experience
• Experience of preparing stock for sale
• Knowledge of stock ranges
