Introducing the department and the role

Our Finishing department is responsible for applying special treatments and dyes to our fabrics before inspecting them ready for shipping. From dress nets and parachute fabrics to emergency services PPE, we have innovative machinery that can treat our fabrics to our customers exact requirements, before being shipped off around the globe.

The Shade and Handle Controller is responsible for establishing the standard pattern of new shades and/or quality to be used as the acceptance criteria for subsequent production. You will be responsible for the approval or rejection of all shades and quality handle against required standards as well as maintaining and updating a complete library of current shade standards and customer handle patterns.

 

What we would like you to demonstrate in your application:

Essential

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High levels of accuracy and colour vision
  • Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Awareness of health and safety in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Experience in entering data into a PC

Desirable

  • Knowledge of fabrics, standards and colour descriptions
  • Previous experience in using a Spectro system is desirable but not essential

 

Hours: Monday-Friday 6:00am-10:00am – 20 hours per week

Salary: £10.36 per hour

Full training will be provided.
