We have an exciting opportunity within our Purchasing Team for a Purchasing Assistant.

Our Purchasing Assistants are responsible for maintaining supply of all purchased materials to support the manufacturing and sales divisions. They process Purchase Requisitions through to Purchase Orders so they are ready for approval and can be issued to the supplier.

They also adhere to purchasing strategies including negotiating the best price, enquiring about price breaks, promoting the Company’s terms of Purchasing, asking about early payment discounts and volume rebates, as well as supporting Purchasing metrics. They are also responsible for liaising with suppliers regarding Purchase Order status, availability of goods and other general correspondence while also arranging return of goods for either replacement or credit.

What we ask of you:

Essential
  • GCSEs or equivalent
  • Direct customer contact and/or negotiating experience, or experience working in a purchasing environment
  • Administration experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Experience of using MS Office
Desirable
  • Previous experience using an ERP system
  • Experience in negotiation/resolution

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5pm
