An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Woven Fabrics department for a Production Planner.

About the department and role

Our Woven Fabrics department is responsible for the manufacturing of technical textiles through a variety of processes such as Texturising, Warping, Drawing-in, Weaving and Inspection.

The Production Planner reports directly to the Weaving Production Manager and is required to maintain the day to day schedule within computerised systems, ensuring planned pieces have the necessary tickets in place while maintaining the production plan as far ahead as sales demand and material supply allows. You will also need to prepare and communicate with other areas of production while reviewing system sales demand to prepare production rate forecasts.

The ideal candidate will grow and develop from their initial role and will be an ambitious individual with a strong drive to develop their career prospects within the Company and who has the potential and motivation to progress into a future career within production and planning management.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • A desire to learn and develop
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Able to prioritise in changing and pressurised situations
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area

The following is desirable

  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Previous planning experience
