We have an exciting opportunity within our Finishing production unit for an experienced Production Manager.

 

    Monday-Friday

  £55-£60k per year

About the department and role

Our Finishing unit processes high-added-value fabrics using formulated treatments and dyes. We have a wide variety of equipment for processing fabrics to our customer’s exact requirements, before being shipped around the globe.

The Finishing Production Manager will be responsible for the manufacture, quality and on-time delivery of all products, ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures. You will be responsible for 100 staff, developing and implementing a strategy to ensure the business is set up to meet current and future business demands.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of the production strategy through target setting, monitoring achievements and appropriate milestones with each accountable Manager and/or Team Leader. Set clear goals and objectives across all Finishing production areas, ensuring regular reviews are conducted by the respective Manager & improvements and efficiencies are delivered. You must be hands-on, leading and motivating the team of Managers and Team Leaders. The successful candidate will be an ambitious individual with a strong drive and motivation to develop within the Company.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Degree or equivalent qualification and/or experience in a relevant subject, preferably in Engineering, Technical Textiles or Manufacturing
  • Proven leadership skills in manufacturing with considerable experience managing a large team
  • A strong desire to drive change and deliver large-scale business improvements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Organisational and project management skills with the ability to problem solve
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of the textile industry is desirable but not essential

Ability to commute/relocate

  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
