We have a new and interesting opportunity within our technical team for a Product Development Technician.

About the department and role

Our Product Development Technicians are responsible for setting up the processing routes and the costings via an ERP system, carrying out development trials to achieve customer specification and issuing the production layouts. The role will involve using new techniques and equipment along with improvement activities.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Scientific background and practical approach to conducting trials, data collection and analysis, report writing and machine layouts
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to prioritise in changing and pressurised situations

The following are desirable

  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Understanding of textile processing techniques and analysis of the results
  • Experience with textile finishing machines
  • Understanding of Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental legislation
  • An understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, QS9000 / IATF16949
