Process Support Operative

We have an opportunity within our Inspection Department for a Process Support Operative.

  3 Shift

10 shifts over 21 days (days and nights)
12-hour shifts.

About the department and the role

Our Final Inspection department inspects and grades all processed fabric received from our Central Finishing department, ensuring the fabric fully meets our customer’s specifications and requirements.

Our Support Process Operatives are responsible for servicing and loading the inspection frames, ticketing and wrapping rolls, and any other requirements for the smooth running of the department. There are some manual handling requirements, although a power-assisted truck will be available.

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

Essential

• Ability to demonstrate initiative
• Good attention to detail
• Good colour vision
• Ability to work in a team as well as on your own

Desirable

• Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage but not essential
• An understanding of HS&E and quality issues in a manufacturing environment
• An understanding of the 5S manufacturing principles
