We have an exciting opportunity within our knitting production team for a production planner

About the department and role

Our Knitted Fabrics department is responsible for the manufacture of a wide variety of technical textiles. We have a vertically integrated production department that produces fabrics with end uses ranging from bridal tulle and digital print substrate to geotextiles and turbocharger hoses for our global customer base.

The Production Planner reports directly to the Director of Knitted Fabrics and is required to maintain the day to day schedule using our ERP system, whilst maintaining the production plan as far ahead as sales demand and material supply allows. You will also need to prepare and communicate with other areas of production while reviewing system sales demand to prepare production rate forecasts.

The ideal candidate will grow and develop from their initial role and will be an ambitious individual with a strong drive to develop their career prospects within the Company and who has the potential and motivation to progress into a future career within production and planning management.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

• A desire to learn and develop
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good negotiating and influencing skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to problem solve
• Good attention to detail
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
• Able to work on own initiative
• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area

The following are desirable

• Experience working with an ERP system
• Knowledge of Warp Knitting
• Able to prioritise in changing and pressurised situations
