We have an opportunity within our Payroll Department for maternity cover for a Payroll Clerk.

 

    Monday-Friday, 8.30-5.00pm

   Competitive Salary

About the role

Our Payroll Department is looking for an analytical and logical person to cover a period of maternity leave.

As a Payroll Clerk, you will be assisting the Payroll Department with the monthly processing of the payroll.  You will be assisting with maintaining the Time and Attendance system working with managers to resolve clocking queries and process absences, deductions and overtime; ensuring that employees’ hours are processed correctly ahead of the monthly payroll being processed.  A good eye for detail and the ability to problem-solve are key to this role and you will be responsible for complying with company processes and procedures.

Working alongside the Payroll Department, you will be required to assist in various tasks related to payroll processing, such as the administration of starters and leavers, calculating deductions and pay adjustments as well as the distribution of payslips and general office tasks.

 

Requirements of the role

  • GCSEs in Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Previous experience of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong IT skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience working in a payroll
  • Previous experience of T&A systems
  • Understanding of various shift patterns
