We have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Graduate.

About the department and role

In the last five years, Heathcoat Fabrics has invested over £3 million in on-site generation installing a 2Mwh Combined Heat and Power engine, 2800 solar panels and refurbishing and bringing back to life hydro generation which had been taken offline in the 1970s. We are now looking to recruit an Energy Graduate to support our energy strategy which is focused on identifying and implementing further energy efficiency measures to continue our progression towards meeting our carbon goals.

Reporting to the Business Project Manager, this is an extremely varied role combining a very practical experience of energy reduction within a manufacturing environment alongside data monitoring and management for compliance reporting and financial allocation purposes.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for energy who wants to make a very real difference within the Company. You should be interested in new technologies becoming available and be able to consider how they could be applied if appropriate within our operational areas.

Training will be provided based on the candidate’s previous experience and knowledge of Energy management.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

Essential

  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Capability to review and analyse data, identify trends, look for anomalies and interpret
  • Ability to apply high-level ideas, legislation or thinking to a defined project or process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programmes – especially Excel
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Able to work on own initiative

The following are desirable

  • Degree or equivalent level of education, preferably in an Energy-related subject, Facilities management, Maths, Science or Business management
  • An understanding of Energy management and experience of using the various formula relating to energy for consumption/costing purposes.
  • An understanding of the various schemes we participate in e.g. CHPQA, ESOS, CCA/CCL, Capacity Market Auctions, FIT, SECR etc.
