Laboratory Technician – Summer Work

We have an exciting opportunity within our Textile Laboratory for summer staff to join us in a Laboratory Technician role.

The role is ideal for students looking for work over the summer break and is an excellent step into laboratory work or the textile industry as no previous experience is necessary.

    Mid-June to September

4 shift pattern – days
14 shifts every 28 days
6.00 am to 6.00 pm

About the department and role

Our Textile Lab prepares and tests our products to exacting specifications and provides accurate and reliable data for product development and continuous improvement across the business. The responsibilities of the role include preparing and testing our fabric and yarns (both physical and chemical), recording test data accurately and in a timely manner and ensuring equipment is working safely and calibrated correctly.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

• Excellent attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication
• Good hand dexterity
• Good arithmetic skills

The following are desirable

• Knowledge of manufacturing Laboratory good practice
• Experience in using Microsoft Office applications
