We have an exciting opportunity for a Knitting Threader operative to join our Warp Warping production department.

About the department and responsibilities

Our Warp Knitted Fabrics department is responsible for the manufacture of a wide variety of technical textiles. We have in-house Warping facilities to supply our Knitting machines which produce fabrics with end uses ranging from bridal veiling and nursery products to body armour and sports protection and turbo engine hoses.

Our Knitting Threader operatives are responsible for threading all our Warp Knitting Machines while also unloading and loading warps. Daily tasks would include sleying up yarn, threading guide bars, removal and reinsertion of guide bars, starting machines up and completing all necessary paperwork. Basic mechanical tasks are also expected to be undertaken.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team and on your own initiative
  • Previous experience of Knitted Fabric manufacture preferred

  • Methodical and accurate working methods
  • Effective communication skills
  • A logical approach to problem-solving
