Planning Assistant

An interesting opportunity within our Knitted Fabrics department for a Production Planning Assistant.

About the department and role

We are seeking a Planning Assistant to join our Knitted Fabrics division on a maternity cover basis. This role will support the Planning Manager as the link between our sales and production departments. A key part of this role is to assist the Planning Manager with all aspects of production planning from knitting the rolls of fabric to processing within our Central Finishing unit, ensuring that the right fabric is produced at the right time.

Responsibilities for the role also include maintaining the production schedules within our Epicor ERP system, confirming jobs, issuing fabric into Central Finishing and monitoring demand changes within Epicor. Other key aspects include providing production lead times to the sales team.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Previous experience with an ERP system
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
