We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager within our multi-disciplined Engineering Department.

About the department and role

Our Engineering department provides a specialist service and advice to all departments within the Company and undertakes the majority of the planned and unplanned maintenance of all production machinery and equipment.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the ERM CMMS maintenance system and planning and prioritising the work of the engineering team and abatement systems accordingly. Constant review is required to ensure the most cost-effective solutions are provided to the business and improvements are being delivered.

The ideal candidate needs to be passionate about delivering business improvements and methodical in their approach. You must be able to manage a large volume of work within tight deadlines, often in a pressured environment, whilst being able to make decisions with confidence, taking into account the wider implications.

The ability to build strong working relationships with departments, particularly production management, health and safety, and environmental teams is essential.

The role may require supporting the Company out of hours at times and you will need to deputise for the Engineering Director when required.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

Essential

  • Leadership experience in a medium-sized engineering team or workshop, with the ability to motivate others
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work on own initiative
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes and CAD software

The following are desirable

  • Degree or equivalent level of education, or experience, preferably in a civil or mechanical engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation
