We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager within our multi-disciplined Engineering Department.

About the department and role

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for a team of engineers across the site ensuring the majority of planned preventative maintenance is carried out effectively, as well as ensuring any reactive maintenance is conducted efficiently with the minimum of disruption to operational requirements.

Reporting to the Engineering Director the successful candidate will have a full understanding of engineering challenges within a manufacturing environment and be knowledgeable and skilled from both a mechanical and electrical perspective.

The ideal candidate needs to be passionate about delivering business improvements and willing to take a hands-on approach when required.

You must be able to manage a large volume of work within tight deadlines, often in a pressured environment, whilst being able to make decisions with confidence.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience required

Essential

  • Experience managing an engineering function within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to problem solve and work on own initiative
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes and CAD software
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation

The following are desirable

  • Degree or equivalent level of education, or experience, preferably in a civil or mechanical engineering discipline
  • Management of the control of contractors
  • Continuous improvement methodologies

 

 

    Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.00pm

  £40,000-50,000
