8.30 am to 5.00 pm

  £9.66 per hour, incl shift premium

About the department and role

Our Dyelab produces laboratory-scale samples ready for customer approval ensuring the samples achieve all customer and production requirements when designing. The role is responsible for carrying out both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the fabric, chemicals, dyestuff and water used in production areas.

Our Dyelab Technicians develop treatments to correct any bulk jobs that do not meet specifications, while also testing extracts of technical fabrics so they can be released to be processed. The ideal candidate will test dyestuff, chemical and fabric changes and present their findings in a manner ready to be used by Production. Our Dyelab Technicians are also responsible for designing dye systems that meet customer requirements and carrying out analysis work on the process water to monitor trends.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Minimum GCSE or equivalent in science and maths
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to acute recording
  • Good arithmetic skills

The following are desirable

  • Experience of working in a laboratory environment
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office applications
