This is an exciting opportunity within our Technical Team for an experienced Development Technician, contributing to some of the most innovative fabric-based projects in the world.

About the department and the role

Our Technical Team is responsible for all product and process development/optimisation and product compliance.

A Development Technician plays a key and active role in managing a wide range of projects, taking them from the development stage through to production and commercialisation. You will be creating and developing new fabric solutions for various applications, coordinating and monitoring development trials, optimising product performance and ensuring cost expectations are met.

Key aspects of the role are opportunities to visit customers, suppliers and attend industry exhibitions.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Degree or equivalent level education, preferably in Textiles, although relevant experience in Materials or Engineering disciplines will be considered.
  • Experience of either textiles, automotive or rubber industry would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good problem-solving creative ability
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good standard of mathematical ability
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Full driving license
  • Able to travel outside the UK
