The Department and the Role

Our Woven Fabrics business manufactures technical textiles through various processes such as Texturising, Warping, Drawing-in, Weaving and Inspection.

Reporting to the Woven Fabrics Production Manager, as Continuous Improvement Lead you will be responsible for growing a culture of continuous development and efficiency across the company by coaching operational teams and engaging them in improvement initiatives. You will identify waste areas such as waiting time, unnecessary motion and excess inventory, in close coordination with the individual Woven Fabrics teams, department managers and technical teams.

Role Expectations:

Analyse processes to find areas for enhancement and identify continuous improvement training requirements as appropriate. Be responsible for supporting continuous improvement strategies for process optimisation and investigating and delivering potential solutions.

Work as part of the management team to ensure all continuous improvement business objectives are met. Be responsible for executing improvement initiatives, through Kaizen events and best practice improvement methods.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A Manufacturing related qualification or experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma yellow belt (or working towards)
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing small teams
  • A strong desire to drive change and deliver large-scale business improvements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Good organisational and project management skills, having the ability to problem-solve
  • Experience in analytical problem-solving including database root cause analysis
  • Experience in process improvements by using lean manufacturing methodology
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
