We have an exciting opportunity within our Site Maintenance department for a Carpenter.

 

 

    Mon-Fri 8.00am-5.00pm

About the department and the role

Our Carpenters work within the site maintenance team to carry out general building maintenance and repairs on the Company site, which also includes the Mill Leat. As an in-house carpenter, you will undertake all aspects of carpentry, painting and decorating across the site, both internally and externally. Also assisting the site maintenance team with aspects of general building and repair work, such as concreting, plastering and bricklaying. Along with the site maintenance team, our carpenters are also responsible for meeting and understanding all safety, quality and quantity requirements.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience required

Essential

  • Carpentry and Joinery GNVQ Level 2, or equivalent qualification and/or experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
  • General building experience, including plastering, concreting, bricklaying, painting and decorating
  • Ability to read basic engineering and construction plans/drawings
  • Ability to use industrial power tools

Desirable

  • Fork Lift Truck licence
