The Department and the Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our busy finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant. You will work alongside the Management Accountant to support the business with key information to optimise performance, control costs and drive profitability.

Some of the responsibilities in this role include analysing stock adjustments, PPVs, manufacturing variances and reporting on significant values to drive cost improvements throughout the business.

You will support the Management Accountant in preparing monthly management accounts, including month-end journals and meeting the required deadlines. Responsible for completing internal weekly sales and booking reports and distributing them to management. Assist in posting bill of material (BoM) and standard cost adjustments to ensure up-to-date and accurate costings. Support in maintaining the fixed asset register and system equipment list to ensure all records are kept up to date. You will be involved with audit and project work, where required.

The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who can analyse large volumes of data and report on trend analysis, maintaining high attention to detail.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in a similar finance environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • AAT part or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
