Techtextil is the leading European international trade fair that showcases technical textiles. This year, the theme of the exhibition was ‘living in space’, featuring products related to space exploration and even an inflatable astronaut at the entrance! The event brought over 1700 exhibitors, and unbelievably, over 47,500 visitors to the Frankfurt Messe and Heathcoat Fabrics were proud to be showcasing some of our newest and most exciting innovations.

One of our products, fitting to this year’s theme, was parachute fabric designed alongside NASA laboratories for use in the next Mars rover landing in 2020, incorporating our own Heathcoat Advanced Yarns for high strength, heat, and UV resistance. It generated a lot of interest from the public who couldn’t resist sampling some of our fabric that really is, out of this world. You can read more about us working with NASA’s research team here.

Alongside this, we are also proud to announce working with Honeywell and Spectra Fibres. Together, we can develop a superior level of PPE attire for both civil and military applications. You can read more about this here.

Our new woven tubular fabrics also generated a huge amount of interest. These types of fabrics, which can be made from a wide range of yarns, are highly conformable even after being coated with rubbers or thermoplastics for reinforcements in a wide range of moulded rubber products.

The whole event was a great success and Heathcoat had the opportunity to network with some of the word’s leading textile developers. We are currently processing our enquiries and look forward to new ventures and new developments at Heathcoat Fabrics.
