An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technologist to join our R&D team. The role involves a variety of R&D based activities from development to investigative work. The development activity primarily involves developing formulations to apply to a range of textiles types to meet individual customer performance requirements.
In addition, investigative work will also be carried out which covers a range of activities, such as test method development, characterisation of materials through to identifying the cause of faults or contamination on fabric to name but a few.
The job holder will play a key and active role managing a wide range of projects, taking them from the laboratory through to production; this will require close liaison between customers, suppliers and other departments within the Company.
Ideally a chemistry graduate would be preferred, however, a scientific discipline and recent laboratory experience with a good basic understanding of chemistry, to at least ‘A’ level standard or equivalent, will be considered. The role also requires candidates to have the following skillset:
- A methodical approach,
- The ability to use initiative to achieve results,
- Good problem-solving skills,
- Good numeracy skills,
- The ability to record details accurately and proficient reporting expertise,
- Strong computer literacy and good communication
There will be occasional travelling required to see customers and suppliers so a full driving license is essential.
