This is an interesting opportunity within our Woven Fabrics admin department for a Production Planning Assistant.

 

    Mon-Fri — 8.30am-5.00pm

  £20,000-£24,000

About the department and role

Our Woven Fabrics department is responsible for the manufacturing of technical textiles through a variety of processes such as Texturising, Warping, Drawing-in, Weaving and Inspection.

The Planning Assistant assists the Weaving Planning Manager with all aspects of planning and material control within the Woven Fabrics production department.  You will be required to maintain the day-to-day schedule and assist with maintaining the longer-term production plan. You will assist with keeping an up-to-date stock inventory by completing prompt transactions within the ERP system. There will be some data gathering, reviewing and preparing from both production machines and computer system for use both within the planning department and other areas.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, in particular, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Able to prioritise in a changing and pressurised situation

The following are desirable

  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in production planning
  • Knowledge of weaving, yarn processing and weaving preparation processes
