About the department and role

Our Knitted Fabrics department is responsible for the manufacture of a wide variety of technical textiles. We have a vertically integrated production department that produces fabrics with end uses ranging from turbocharger hoses and geotextiles to bridal dress net and digital print substrates for our global customer base.

The Planning Assistant assists the Production Controller with all aspects of planning and material control within the Knitted Fabrics production department and is required to maintain the day to day schedule within computerised systems, whilst maintaining the production plan as far ahead as sales demand and material supply allows. You will also need to prepare and communicate with other areas of production while reviewing system sales demand to prepare production rate forecasts.


Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes

The following are desirable

  • Knowledge of Warp Knitting
  • Experience of delivering continuous improvement to systems
