We have a number of Operative opportunities within our Knitting production units.

About the department and responsibilities

Our Knitted Fabrics department is responsible for the manufacture of a wide variety of technical textiles. We have an in-house Warping department to supply our modern Warp Knitting machines which produce fabrics with end uses ranging from Oekotex Class 1 nursery products to body protection, healthcare products and turbo engine hoses.

Key responsibilities for a Knitting Operative include managing a number of machines both individually and as part of a team, ensuring the smooth running of the department and that our fabrics are manufactured to a high-quality standard. In addition, removing and packaging finished pieces from the machines and completing repairs when required.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team and on your own initiative
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements
  • Methodical and accurate working methods
  • Effective communication skills
  • A logical approach to problem-solving
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
