Catering Assistant
 
Central Services Division

Grade B, Monday to Friday 6am – 2.00pm

12 month fixed term

 
An opportunity has arisen for Catering Assistant to join the Catering team in the Central Services division. 
 
The main purpose of the role is to produce & serve a varied menu to employees & visitors on site. This includes breakfasts, hot lunches, vending services and buffets. A high standard of presentation is required, along with the ability to work well under pressure. 
 
The successful candidate will ideally have a Hygiene Certificate or will be currently working towards a catering qualification, take pride in the presentation of their work and dining areas, and have previous experience of working in a catering environment. Candidates must also have excellent people skills, and be computer literate.

CURRENT VACANCY
  Plant Services Operator
 
Grade B.2, 12 hour shifts.
Starting Salary £8.5135 per hourrising to £8.7631 per hour after training
 
An opportunity has arisen for a Plant Services Operator within the Engineering Department. 
The role involves the effective operation of site services including water treatment plant, softeners, effluent plant & sludge presses, boiler-house, CHP, and compressors.
 
 Key responsibilities include:  
 
 
The ability to actively carry out all work in a hygienic manner & maintain high standard of housekeeping across all areas of plant is therefore essential.
 
Plant optimisation is a key part of the role; you will be required to take appropriate action to ensure that both process and statutory limits are adhered to. You will also be required to partake in technical investigations and process improvements, monitoring the process by collating, retrieving and analysing information from a variety of sample sources, carrying out basic routine operational maintenance procedures, including housekeeping duties. You will be liaising with the engineering and manufacturing teams and will need to clearly communicate operational issues so they can be rectified quickly.
 
Recruitment for this role is being progressed in line with current 4 shift pattern; however applicants should be aware consultation is pending regarding introduction of additional tasks, alternative shift patterns, and the future reporting structure within the role. Weaving Operative (Tyer)
 
Grade B, 4 shift pattern 6am – 6pm or 6pm -6am
Skills block level 4
 
An opportunity has arisen for a Weaving Operator (Tyer) in the Weaving division.
 
Key Responsibilities for this role are tying warps, assisting with smash weaving duties, operating the Tying and Dropper Machines, and also operating the ‘Headcut’ dying equipment. 
 
Applicants must have previous experience in the weaving division, a responsible attitude, a logical approach, and be able to work as part of a team. Observation skills are essential. A methodical approach to work is required, along with the capability to follow instructions closely as high levels of accuracy are also essential. 
 
Gaiter
 
Grade B, 4 shift pattern 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am
Skills Block level 1after training
 
An opportunity has arisen for a Gaiter in the Weaving division.   The role involves a variety of tasks including the patrolling looms in order to identify which warps are required and to replace warps in accordance with the allocation sheet. 
 
Key responsibilities include: preparing looms for a tie warp, fitting tie warps into loom, completing relevant paperwork, stripping looms out ready for Gait , fitting Gaits into loom, cutting warps out when they are no longer required, removing warp waste, weighing  and recording information, cleaning looms (on weekends and night shifts )
 
Applicants must possess a good level of dexterity skills, be self motivated, have an aptitude for physical tasks, along with the ability to work on their own initiative, a methodical approach to work is required, along with the capability to follow instructions closely, and a basic mechanical knowledge would be advantageous.

Texturising Operatives
Grade B, 4 shift pattern 6am – 6pm or 6pm -6am
12 month fixed term contract
 
A number of opportunities for Texturising Operators have arisen in the Texturising department of the Weaving division.
 
Key responsibilities for this role include the smooth running of the Texturising and Twisting machines, loading bulk packs of yarn, recording production weights, conducting yarn inspection for quality, and general housekeeping in the Texturising department.
 
You must have a responsible attitude, a logical approach and be able to work as part of a team. You need to follow health & safety regulations carefully and pay attention to detail. Accuracy is essential for maintaining records and conducting careful and detailed tasks. Ideally applicants will also have previous experience of driving a fork lift truck.
