Our Quality department is currently looking for candidates to fill the position of Quality Engineer.

 

  Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm
£ 28,000-£35,000 per year
Training, development and progression available

About the department and role

Our Quality Engineers provide detailed data analysis, system guidance and support to our production areas on all aspects of quality activities during the production lifecycle to ensure we are able to meet our customer demands, as well as the requirements of ISO9001. As we develop our processes to meet our target of achieving IATF16949 the role will start to encompass these requirements. Necessary training will be given alongside experience gained by working on the transition project.

This is a great opportunity to support our innovative manufacturing processes by delivering continual improvement of efficiencies, reliability, and performance as part of a cross-functional team. You will be responsible for facilitating appropriate actions and methodologies are taken to address quality issues by supporting investigations into internal deviations and improvement activities.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven, adaptable, a great team worker and can communicate on multiple levels verbally, through presentations and reports. The role allows the holder to work as part of a team driven to make improvements to our business processes and efficiencies and will have the opportunity to take the lead on improvement projects. The role will work alongside the Quality team and be the champion of Quality within the selected manufacturing area.

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

  • Relevant qualification or experience in a similar field and/or role
  • Ability to statistically analyse data for trends and patterns
  • Ability to problem solve and utilise core quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC
  • Experience or qualifications using tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping and standard work
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and through written reports
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • Awareness of Six Sigma principles and their application
  • Experience or qualification in internal auditing
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use statistical software, such as SPC XL / Minitab.
